Sony is amazing but their menus and features are amazingly disastrous
I got this TV because I found out the 4k was a marketing scam that only worked with some input devices and was irrelevant at normal distances you would view this TV at. As I read in other articles, 4K would be distinguishable at 10-20 feet if the screen size was above 80". Forget 4k, its a marketing sham.
So this 1080p was fine with me. The picture is amazing as I have always enjoyed the color tones on my previous sony TV.
That is where the compliments stop.
The remove is ridiculous. If you have an internet TV where is the keyboard on the remote? I loved this feature on my Google TV and could not believe Sony went backwards on their previous features by reducing the functionality.
The remote has a "Football mode" which seemed to do absolutely NOTHING. I could not tell a different.
Also, I finally found a way to put one of the separate input devices to a separate PIP , but I had to go through a menu maze to get to that. Why not put the PIP as a one touch feature instead of the stupid , useless "Football mode"?
The other internet features are completely dumb and uninteresting. You have the usual Netflix and other things if that matters.
Also the settings seemed to be split into different areas of the menu. For example the sound settings were in one place and then I found some different sound settings in a different place on the menu. This is just plain fragmented and confusing.
I ended up hooking up an old Google TV box which I liked from my old Sony TV and a dvr tuner to mine and completely bypassing the awkward remote and menu system.
Great picture, horrible design and usability.

This works
It fixes the problem of the door not opening and when the door is shut the microwave doesn't heat and the turn table doesn't turn. On mine the pivot pin on the right (pictured) was broken causing it to miss-align for proper switch movement.
