Save the old control arm!
1 of 2 found this helpful Cons: The instructions do not mention that you have to save the control arm from the ice maker you're replacing - the new ice maker, oddly enough - does not come with a control arm. Why not? It's a critical part of the ice maker. Luckily, I didn't discard the old ice maker, so I was able to remove the old control arm and install it on the new ice maker. I didn't notice from the picture of the new ice maker that that it doesn't show a control arm.
Also, the knock-out that has to be removed has to be cut out with a knife or razor blade - it doesn't just pop out. Why have a knock-out when you have to remove it anyway?
Lastly, why should it take up to 24 hours for the new ice maker to begin producing ice, as noted in the instructions?
Pros: It works.
