Works great, easy installation
2 of 2 found this helpful I bought this to replace my backup camera on my 2011 F150. It works great! The images are much more clear than the old original camera. There was talk about having to get the dealer to run an update on the software that controls the camera to get the backup lines to work. They are there without the update. However, I think I must still need to get the software update because the zooms do not work. So, I am setting up to get the dealer to update the camera software so that the zooms will start working again. I use the zoom to help with hooking up my RV. If you don't use the zooms, then I would say you don't have to update the software.
Also, it should be noted, if you are replacing the original camera that you will need to the newer mount bezel and new nameplate. You will have to break the original nameplate to get to the camera. For changed the design and the new mount and nameplate are made so that if you have to remove the nameplate again, you can do it without breaking it. The parts I used are listed below.
The installation was super easy. There are videos online that show you how to do it. Pop the name plate off (it will break), remove the mount (a few screws). Install camera on new mount and screw back into place. Snap new nameplate on. Done. (Note: may have to go to dealer to get camera software updated).
