Excellent starter pen
It's been 15 years since I bought and used a fountain pen. What I recall of the casual consumer quality pens was that they were unbalanced with inconsistent nib quality. To be fair, I didn't try every available pen, nor did I invest in pens over $100 dollars so YMMV. Fast forward to today: this lovely Lamy Safari reminds me of why I love a proper pen and why I expect to never buy another disposable pen.
I acquired this lovely Lamy for less than $30. It's quite well balanced and feels comfortable in the hand. The ink flows beautifully and the nib feels quite sturdy. I just purchased a converter and some high quality fountain ink and I'm even happier with it. This is a great pen to get started in the fountain pen world.
