Trimpin is a classic documentary for any music-geek/tech-geek/art-geek.
This film is a must see for those who are interested in the connections/relations between music, craft and art and for those who love unique documentaries. Most of Trimpins' work can not be seen/heard unless one actually goes to one of his installations; This film offers a rare opportunity to see a retrospective of the work of a "Hidden Master". From his upbringing in a region of Cuckoo Clock makers, to his work with legendary composer Conlon Nancarrow this documentary tells the story and shows the influences of a truly unique artist/inventor/craftsman. My jaw was left hanging open between exclamations of, "listen to that thing" and "how does anyone come up with a concept like that". A primitive tech- geek/music-geek/art-geek dream come true.
