Fun, replayable, classic Metroid remake
Zero Mission is one of my favorite video game remakes. It strikes a good balance of nostalgia with fresh changes and quality of life updates. The new areas and bosses are memorable and appropriate to the game's pace and flow. There are several neat little connections and callbacks (call forwards?) to things from Super Metroid for fans of that game. The unlockable hard mode adds replayability and is more satisfyingly challenging, in my opinion, than other recent "hard modes" in the Metroid series. The intentionally short length lets a player really work on a better speed run time! Any fan of the Metroidvania genre will enjoy this entry.
