Puts the fun in funeral
1 of 1 found this helpful I read this cookbook cover to cover and laughed so hard the dogs came running more times than I can count. I think all southerners will relate to just about every word in it. I doubt anyone else will have a clue.
I wasn't all that interested in the recipes, as I already know how to fix most of them, but I did give one of the grits a try. This just happened to be the day before the eclipse and I drove to see the totality--about 90 minutes away. All the way home, instead of marveling at the solar event I had just seen, I was thinking about the leftover grits and anxious to get home to finish them. Does that give you a clue how good they were? I've now made a list of the top 15 or so recipes I want to try: Bourbon Boiled Custard is next and I'm expecting nothing but great.

Best shoes around
House shoes that can easily be worn outside in winter weather, perfect for when the dog barrels past you and has to be chased down without time to put on shoes..or, maybe, clothes. That’s the neighbors’ problem. Dog safety comes first. Oh, and the shoes are comfortable, too, even with feet propped up on an ottoman. Nice warm lining. I replace all shoe insoles with what my podiatrist recommends so they are good for my feet as well.

So much catching up to do
1 of 1 found this helpful Michael Moore fans will love it, but I hope those not enamored by him will look at it as well. Yes, it has Moore's liberal slant on what he sees in other countries, but the facts (the real facts) speak for themselves. Way too many other countries have policies that benefit the "common person" so much better than we do and it makes any thinking person ask why we don't. From healthy school lunches to paternal leave to debt-free high education, there's so much room for improvement...if only we would.
