(Street Fighter EX3) A game that's better then people give it credit for.
I love the EX series. Especially EX2 being my favorite. This game sadly gave the series a bad name. Not for no good reason either.
The game was rushed for a ps2 launch title window. It kinda feels like it too. Nothing major, but it's just the 'vibe' of the game that gives it this feeling.
The graphics leave a lot to be desired. They really don't look all that great, the background are nice. The art portraits are amazing, I love Diago Ikeno's art. The models themselves are rough though. Plus the alt colors are pretty ugly for some of the characters.
Gameplay is a tag 2v2 fighter. I like it, and it adds to the game uniqueness. The arcade mode and how it's done is fun, tagging in and out is fun to do. Makes it so they're are a lot of combinations and combos to make up. They're are other males like vs and I can't remember the other one honestly. But this is where the game shines, lots of different stuff to try out and it's one of the games best feature.
The next big thing the game has is the character creator. There is a character named ace who is a blank slate. In the character mode you do different trials so you can get XP to buy moves. The trials are really fun, at first I was sad that combo trials that were in ex 1 and 2 didn't make a return. But these spiritual successor of them is a lot of fun. While some require certain moves, a lot of them are done by doing using whatever combo of moves you want. It adds a lot of puzzle solving and figuring things out to do it, but it's fun. Mixing moves in general is a fun concept. The character creator will be the thing that keeps me coming back.
Overall I think this game is a good buy. While I'd rather say buy the first to ex games. This game isn't the instant pass up, stale, and garbage game people say it is. It's still fun with great new gameplay and features.

Decent fighter for your dreamcast.
I'm new to virtua fighter. Love fighting games, and always been interested to actually own a vf game. Instead of just emulating it or smth.
Good graphics.
Gameplay is smth to get used to. But it has a nice flow to it. The varied stages and terrain are smth I wish virtua fighter continued to do. I'll say that it's not as feature rich as tekken 3. Only having a decent training mode. Arcade and vs modes for regular and team battle.
Music is also decent. Maybe not as good as other vf games. But it has bangers.
Overall a decent game to have. It doesn't go for much either. Good luck trying to convince your fg friends to play this lol.
I will say that vf4 evo might be the better package as a whole. But if you have a dreamcast this isn't a bad addition to your library.
