Panasonic LUMIX GX85 Mirrorless Camera w/ G VARIO 12-32mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. MEG...

Serious improvement for Panasonic
Having used several Panasonic micro four thirds cameras, including the recent GM5, I was really hoping the claims Panasonic has made with this camera would "pan" out (pun intended). Good IBIS, enhanced sensor resolution with no AA filter, a new contrasty monochrome mode? Yes please. So far I have definitely noticed a small sharpness improvement in jepgs compared to the GM5. Note that the first thing I do with a micro four thirds camera is turn the noise reduction down to its minimum setting for jpegs. I believe, from what I have seen, that this camera has fairly strong noise reduction by default. Turning it all the way down produces super crisp and sharp shots. Jpeg colors are also much better than the GM5. IBIS is great as well. I have been able to produce a good amount of sharp shots at even 4 stops lower than the rule of reciprocity for shutter speed. This camera has more plastic than the GM5 or the previous GX cameras, but it is still very sturdy and slightly heavy. I have no doubt there is a metal chassis and that overall durability is on par with previous Panasonic cameras, which is to say excellent. The value for this camera is quite high for all the features you are getting. I applaud Panasonic for producing so many features and pricing it so competitively against similar mid range mirrorless cameras. Happy with my purchase!

Small, light and renders quite nicely
I have used many Micro Four Thirds lenses, but keep coming back to this one as a one-lens prime solution for small camera bodies (currently I am using a Panasonic GM5). it's truly tiny, fast to focus (though not the fastest among modern Micro Four Thirds lenses) and has pleasing rendering with punchy, strong colors and good bokeh on subjects that are close to the camera. It's not the sharpest lens, but more than makes up for it in other areas, and the value can't be beat.
