Great Planning Tool!
Another great RS handbook with lots of information, detailed "walks" and conversational directions to and about tourist and local sights. Wonderful for making detailed pre-trip plans as well as for carrying with you for immediate, on the spot reference, museum guide, street guide, etc. "Keep On Traveling!"

Helpful, handy, happy & hardworking guide!
We used the Krakow and Warsaw sections of this book over a ten day trip. As we walked most of the time, the walking routes and maps were good/clear as were the museum guides and other do-it-yourself guides such as for Auschwitz. Local transport info. accurate except for missing new train from Warsaw airport to central train station now available. Did not use where to stay or eat. Good value. Book thin and flexible - easy access to carry in back pocket and/or in hand walking. Typical Steves relaxed writing style.

Valuable introduction to cruise ports specific to the Panama Canal transit.
This book (one of a cruise ship series) was helpful to me as a first time cruiser of the Panama Canal route. It covers all of the ports of call including the Caribbean and Mexico as well as US departure and arrival ports plus history of Panama Canal itself. My book was used and did not come with the accompanying map so cannot speak to that. The book gives pertinent information on each port, shopping, culture and possible port excursions. There are local maps but they are not too helpful. As I have not as yet taken my trip I cannot speak to the current accuracy of the information but I would suspect that a current edition would be the most reliable. It was definitely of help in planning and in just looking ahead as to what to expect on the cruise itinerary. Well illustrated and over 300 pages, a weighty volume covering a lot of ports most of which you may not visit on any one specific cruise.
