Excellent Geared Head!
1 of 1 found this helpful This is the "New" geared head from Manfrotto. I've had a few of the previous geared heads, the Big Heavy Duty 405, and the medium weight 410, and this new MHX Pro 3 WG geared head is a great new technopolymer design. It's lighter weight and easier to use "Out in the Field." Having used the 410 for many years, I like how the new MHX levers allow you to "unlock" and quickly move the major axes of the head into position, then Fine Tune with the knob. It's a great design, and I'm using it "On Location" and "Out in the Field" every day now.

EXCELLENT PRO MONOPOD!!
Bogen / Manfrotto 3249 / 680 with the 234 / 3229 Tilt Head QR. THIS is a GREAT PRO Monopod. I've used it with Large Telephoto and Zoom lenses that have the built in "L" bracket such as the 200-400, 400 f2.8, 500 f4, 600 f4 AFS with my Nikon DSLR. The 234RC Quick Release Head is perfect, it has the adjustable friction knob, so you can get the tilt action adjusted to fit your style of shooting. This monopod is very light, yet very secure and stable. The quick lever locks allow you to adjust the height quickly and the rubber foot is great for almost every surface I have used it on. Bogen / Manfrotto makes Very High Quality products that don't cost an arm & a leg. I HIGHLY recommend this monopod and head combo for anyone that is thinking about a monopod purchase.
