Delighted to be surprised.
Having used an EOS film camera for a number of years I only decided to delve into digital slr's when I discovered that my EF lenses would transfer without any problems. I bought the 350D for a bargain price on ebay and have discovered to my delight that I have bought well.
The 350D lacks a digital display of the shot you want to take and the display screen is very small compared to modern compacts but the pictures I've taken so far have easily outperformed my wife's Sony Cybershot. The autofocus with the EF, USM lenses is fast and precise but can be confused at maximum zoom (75-300mm). For portraits and close up shots the results are very good and at 5m pixels are crisp with exceptional colour accuracy. Slightly on the heavy side it becomes hard to control with a long range zoom lens. Without a tripod to steady the ship camera shake is unavoidable. EF-S lenses may make a difference.
Overall delighted with my purchase.
