A chance to play your old cassettes
1 of 1 found this helpful This Bush tape recorder is a product that has survived the passing of the years. With a few styling improvements, it is on a parallel with a similar Bush product I owned back in the mid-1970s. And it works just as well. The reel-to-reel tape recorders that first opened up the possibility of making personal recordings and playing them back were seen as quite a miracle at the time. They were however big and heavy. Then the new smaller cassettes came on the market, allowing for easier use, and we were delighted. It seemed even that LPs and turntables were going to be redundant, as people began transferring their record collections on to the new cassettes. Of course technology continues to advance, and although the cassette player continued to be popular in its successor, the Sony Walkman (although that didn't record), its days were numbered.
But it still is a viable product. The expensive cassette decks, with Dolby C and S noise reduction, that were capable of returning excellent quality from cassette tapes have not themselves stood the test of time, and for many people still owning cassette tapes that are able to last for years it is often difficult to find the means of playing them. This Bush tape recorder allows them to do so. Inevitably the quality cannot match the expensive cassette decks, but it nevertheless does the job and does it conveniently and reliably. My old tape recorder served me well in the past. Its successor will do so too.
