This replacement is better than the original
3 of 3 found this helpful Our Samsung RF263BEAESP/AA refrigerator came with a DA97-12317A ice maker which was defective from the beginning. It would make loud popping noises frequently and freeze up periodically. Samsung customer service would not do anything about the problem saying it was normal. After many defrostings with a heat gun the icemaker eventually warped from the heat and stopped working. I order this unit which appears to be a new model. After three weeks it is working perfectly with no noise and no signs of frosting over.
