It’s history.

I did not know a lot about Maximilian at first, purchasing this miniature inspired me to learn about who he was and oh boy, what a character. I’m surprised Hollywood has not made a movie about him starting Leonardo DiCaprio. Maximilian was the star of his time!! He was officially the Holy Roman Emperor, however his enemies would not legitimately recognize him as the holy Roman Emperor thus making him the Joe Biden of his era. Similar to Joe in that regard, but he couldn’t be more different than Joe all around. For instance Maximillian let his soldiers, the landsknecht wear any armor they wanted to. Dressing flamboyantly colorful and anyway they wanted. Maximilian fell many times, but he always was able to pick himself back up. Never quite out. Always a player in 16th century politics. He pushed science and the arts. Was a huge fan of poetry. Used religion only when it suited him. Overall he was a true renaissance man. The mini is fantastic. The sculpts for both old and young are really well done. The scepter is beautiful and I can’t wait to see what he looks like after painting. Nobody else was or will ever be like Maximilian and that’s okay. The world loved him for who he was, himself. I love the miniature. Maximilian lives on!
