This refurbished unit is way faster than my old Linksys model. Huge memory, too.

Powerful light settings; neat glow ring feature
I've used numerous headlamps while doing thousands of miles of long distance hiking, and climbing mountains such as Rainier, Kilimanjaro, and in the Tetons. While I've not yet had this new Tikka "Hybrid Concept" out for any major adventures, based on all my past experience, this is the best I've seen in terms of fairly light weight, combined with incredibly bright light settings - and I love the small "glow ring" of florescent material surrounding the LED light - if you've put the headlamp down in the dark, or dropped it, it allows you to instantly locate it - even if the drop pops the battery compartment open. The ability to also buy the rechargeable pack also is nice - though my preference there is to buy 3-6 high quality, rechargeable AAA batteries and use those instead.
