Made in Italy, but non-functioning

This part was only about 1/3 the price of others, so I went for it. When it arrived I was happy to see that it was made in Italy, but it was clearly a part that had been sitting around for some time. After installing it, I found it to be non-functional. After removing it and re-testing it, I finally got it to work after I rapped it a few times.
