Great gear motor system to re-purpose
It is very well built and the steel gears are easily machinable (to drill a central bore into the output shaft on a mini-lathe). The device can with some effort be taken apart and re-assembled.
I used it to re-animate a vintage 1977 electric rotary car clock whose plastic gears were broken. As great as the new gear motor is, it should not be run @ 12 V directly (it will get hot quickly), it seems to work well with pulses limited to 40 mA @ 7.5 V. Also the gear reduction ratio seems to be closer to 1:218 if I understood my stepper controller and the way it counts it pulses correctly. Thanks to this combo I have an accurate car clock again, that draws just about 1 Watt including (a non original LED) illumination!

New Compressor for Old Car
It works as promised in a 1977 Cadillac Seville and cools well.

Looks Like the real thing…just a slightly different Laser edging thanks the 2013 model.
