FAST TRACK Guitar Method Bk. 2(1997, Paperback) FREE SHIPPING

    Excellent method for learning guitar
If you don’t mind learning standard notation (notes on a music staff), this book and its predecessor are excellent method books. I’ve been learning guitar off & on for years. These Fast Track books get you playing quickly and take you in small steps as you make progress, but at whatever pace you choose. Other books seem to bog me down in too much reading instead of getting to the point and getting me to actually play. I STRONGLY recommend getting a copy with a CD. Having something to play along with makes a world of difference. Each book will occasionally provide tabs under the music staff, to help you confirm that you’re getting the right notes when sets of notes (chords) are first introduced. They each also provide chord diagrams. Book 2 starts off with simple (two note) power chords, and shows you how to move them up and down the neck, then gives you sequences to play. Then upgrades them to three note power chords and gives you things to play with those. It’s to the point, then gets you busy practicing. IMPORTANT NOTE: Each time you get to new material, you’ll probably not be able to play fast enough to keep up with the track on the CD. I recommend slowing things down, then increasing speed when you’re able to play everything accurately. I personally imported mine into my Boss eBand JS-10, which allows me to slow the tracks down (or speed them up) without changing pitch. That’s a pricey unit (usually $399 new, as of January 2020), but there is software out there for PC’s that will allow you to do the same thing on a PC. Also, many books with accompanying tracks now provide downloadable tracks (instead of including CDs). Some of those now include free software to do the very thing I mentioned above (slow down or speed up tacks without changing pitch). Practice with these and you’ll get better everyday, even if you don’t realize it. And if you need objective confirmation that you’re getting better, I’d try Rocksmith, which is a PURE joy to play! Enjoy!
