3 of 3 found this helpful This is a working plane but even at that, it needs improvement. The sole is extremely rough and needs a little work to smooth it down. That said, it isn't a $200 plane with all the hand finishing done to it. It has all the features of the old Stanley planes but with new cost cutting quality. It has a good blade that only needs the normal fine touch to the edge and all the features work well. I would buy it again if I needed another one for rough work but now I know it would need some time and effort to 'tune' it up.

Solid Mounts
Typical Weaver quality, solid construction and easy mounting. Hold solid with the higher recoil of the 307 and 375 Winchester calibers. I recommend them if you didn't get a set of stock Winchester mounts with your rifle.
