1 of 1 found this helpful This is a beautifully photographed book, largely of exterior front elevations. I am disappointed by the paucity of photographs of interiors and gardens. Had it not been for the absence of these rather integral elements, the book would have rated 5 stars. It appears to me that the author sought to include as many structures as possible, and in so doing, failed to elaborate on any one sufficiently. I personally prefer architectural history books which go into more detail about fewer structures. This book gives just enough information to leave the reader wanting to turn the page and find out more about the given structure, but the "more" is not there - in its place is another "teaser" about yet another structure.
