Nostalgic Sound From Years Gone By (But Not Forgotten)
1 of 1 found this helpful This guitar is absolutely beautiful. The single coil pickups have great bell like chime, especially with the bridge pickup only. The craftsmanship and finish are flawless. The slim neck is fast, smooth, and feels great. It plays as well as my Epiphone Sheraton II (which has humbucking pickups and a center solid block body for sustain), and I love it as well. I will, however, change the string set from 10-46 to 9-42 Ernie Ball Super Slinky or Super Slink Cobalt which are easier on the fingers and great for string bending. I have also purchased an black truss rod cover with the engraved white Epiphone "E" engraved on it to replace the "Elitist" logo cove to give my axe a more original '60's' look. This is so much nicer than the Casinos from China that only cost 1/4 of the Elitist.
