Dr. Shapiro's Picture Perfect Weight Loss Cookbook
Upon explaining to my cardiologist at the Mayo Clinic that I felt I ate mostly healthy foods and my weight was due to the volume of food I consumed. As he quickly suggested to me that I could eat all I wanted.....I just needed to eat the right things, he reached to a shelf and pulled out a copy of Dr. Shapiro's Picture Perfect Weight Loss Cookbook. As if he knew, the first page he flipped to was a picture of five spareribs....one of my favorite sin foods. The five contained 1000 calories. Furthermore, to add insult to injury, the spareribs pictured were less than half the size of the five that I typically eat at my favorite BBQ restaurant. The doc then pointed to the huge amount of food that I could eat pictured on the opposite page with far less calories. All foods which I liked. The book was a blind eye opener. Not wanting to pay the $29.95 per copy at the Mayo Book Store, I immediately went to eBay and proceeded to buy eight copies...some through Buy it Now and some through auction. All were fantastic buys. I wanted to share this revelation with my also too heavy friends. By changing my eating habits, and reducing calorie consumption, I quickly lost 14 pounds thanks to my cardiologist and Dr. Shapiro's Picture Perfect Weight Loss Cookbook and eBay. Dan Vierk
