Another fine chapter in jazz history
If you are a fan of Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz, this one is steeped with interesting history and anecdotes. Stacy’s playing is hindered slightly by age, but you hear him stretching out a bit from his old habits and manner of playing. Funny bits, too.

Great for live 1956
Microphone placement provides adequate balance. Piano is a little in the back on the ensemble segments. Edits are abrupt between tracks.

Great trio recording
Swinging piano and inventive arrangements- a good cd for fans of Gerald Wiggins and those just looking for that cool trio sound. My copy is a bootleg as evidenced by paper, sloppy printing layout, and disc appearance. I have an extensive collection of the Chronological Classics and this doesn’t match any of them. That said - it doesn’t really matter. It sounds the same.
