1 of 1 found this helpful The game (and peripheral) are great fun, the gun-peripheral is way more fun than using a traditional controller for shooting stuff in VR.
Careful - you have to act like you're holstering the 'gun' over your back to swap weapons and I broke my lamp/light shade on the ceiling. Watch out for your surroundings before you start playing as this game is more vigorous than the average VR game, you'll be ducking and even turning around to shoot things. I found standing next to the edge of my bed (back of legs up against the bottom of my bed) helped keep me standing in one spot. There's a grid in-game that pops up if you get too far from the starting position - that works well too. Worth mentioning I don't have much room in my room so this stuff won't be an issue if you're playing this in a more open space like a living room where you've moved the coffee table off to one side.
Highly recommend having a friend n taking turns as it's hilarious to watch someone play.Also makes playing the game a tad less scary - if you watch a clip on youtube you'd think shooting spider-like creatures is no big deal, but it's a whole different thing when you're alone in VR.

It's cheap and just works straight out of the box
1 of 1 found this helpful I bought this one a whim, so I could take turns playing Resident Evil with my friend. I had no idea how amazing it was going to be.
I envisioned another wii-motion-controls type novelty value but wow was I wrong. It's been a month-ish now and I've played some of the most interesting games since the jump from 2D to 3D in the n64/ps1 era. Every type of game feels fresh again as they have to adapt them to the VR. I can't wait til we get more games like London Heist and Scavengers Odyssey. Do you remember how awesome it seemed when you first used a light-gun? Do you remember how disappointing the wii versions of those shooter-on-rails guns were? the laggy wii crosshair, it felt like a step back from the old light guns. Well London Heist feels like a true evolution of that genre.
Resident Evil and Scavengers Odyssey both prove that more classic style games can be done, and the VR adds such a deep level of immersion. Just remember to put a something weighty behind your bedroom/office door because when you're "in there"/"in the VR" so to speak, you are totally oblivious to the real world around you which makes you susceptible to silly pranks like someone grabbing your arm while you are playing the already very scary Resident Evil for example.
For upto 4 player fun times be sure to try out the Playroom VR that comes with it. I've not had that much fun with my family gaming since super smash bros first came out.
