Poor sensor range
1 of 1 found this helpful I've been shopping around and have tried a couple of trail camera's now and heard good things about the older Moultrie M880 model and decided to give a refurbished one a try.
Pros: I really liked the camo pattern and the quality and design of the case. I liked the ability to both secure the interior with a small padlock and the rest of the camera with an adjustable cable because I can feel the camera is secure without having to buy a security box. The picture quality seemed good as well. Overall it seems like a quality product.
Cons: The only real con I had for this camera was the sensor range. When I tested on a flat surface in the late evening it was barely able to detect me outside of ten feet, and at night the range was even worse, possibly 5 to 6ft. My guess is this particular refurbished camera was defective since I haven't seen poor sensor range mentioned in any other reviews. I recommend testing the sensor range and other aspects thoroughly before committing to a refurbished camera.
