works in a salt mine
we have been using these units for 8 years in a rather harsh environment, we have them on our trams and train that operatein a salt museum 650 feet below the surface. radio shack has held up where others have been less than desired

dark museum lights
we are using these lights to allow visitors to go out in a dark part of a salt mine--650 feet down. they are a good value light and are holding up rather well. only problems we have experienced are the visitors try rotating the red lens cover and break the wires inside and the red cover for the switch sometimes gets dislodged and needs to be repositioned.

we use these for line of sight communication in a salt mine. that have held up rather well for us. we have bought 30+ units over the last 7 years
