The reunion of the world's greatest band
This concert contains one new song and it makes me wonder what we'd have heard if the band had stayed together for a few more albums. The concert is great and intimate, fine camera work and excellent setlist. Obviously, from my title I am a fan of the Velvet Underground and I also love most of Lou's solo work as well as Cale's interesting releases. The really great bands don't always join for a concert with all of the original members but thankfully the Velvet Underground have and it's preserved here for all time. My kids and theirs and so on will always be able to watch an amazing band come together and sound awesome. They're quite a bit more polished than the concerts of the late 60's (which can be viewed occasionally if you look hard enough) and they play confidently as if they've practiced together for awhile although Sterling Morrison seems nervous on solos . John Cale is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Lou Reed is Lou Reed and Moe Tucker is pretty solid as she stands in her unconventional style of playing drums. I just love this disc.
