EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!! "HIGHLY RECOMMENDED"!!!!!!!!!!!!
These are the clearest sounding earphones I have ever heard. The mid-range is superb!
The bass non-over powering and defined. You can hear each placement of an instrument in it's sound stage presentation. The fact that the earphones do not touch your ears, creates a depth and spaciousness in the music that convinces you, that you are listening to a set of speakers.
These earphones are light weight, non-fatiguing, and sound true to the instruments life.
Great improvements include removing the screens , (which opens the spaciousness & depth 60% more and gets rid of the ring of the screens), upgrade the tail section and remove the metal section XLR casing, or just replace the earphone cable totally for full potential in sound quality.
My music taste for this review/opinion include, in order; Classical, Jazz, Folk, Techno, Female & Male Artist, Some rock artist; i.e. T. Petty, J. Hiatt, P. McCartney, B. Raitt,etc...
"I do not recommend these for Heavy Metal listeners or if your looking for Bass-Slam.
Why AKG stopped producing these "GEMS" is "unbelievable?"
Not many were produced, "maybe 11,000 pairs."
Try to get yourself a pair to listen to AND if they become available.
My guess is you won't be dis-appointed!
