2001, the most impotant film ever?
1 of 1 found this helpful 2001 A Space Odyssey was the marriage of cinematic genius Stanley Kubrick with the equally renowned sci-fi novelist Arthur C. Clarke. The film effects of Kubrick's were ground breaking for the time - if you like special effects in movies, you need to thank Kubrick for getting it all started. The theme(s) of the movie are multi layered and most certainly intentionally ambiguous, leaving the film open to lots of interpretation. If you watched it and said "What the heck was that all about?" you aren't the only one. The film takes several viewings to take it all in. For a first viewing, just sit back and enjoy the ride. 2001 could be the most important film ever, it's that important.
