Old School, New Look!
2 of 2 found this helpful This was the least expensive refurbished/rebuilt AGS-101 SP I could find online, and for that reason alone I figured I'd give it a shot. So glad I did, as this little handheld is a joy to use. I've been able to play with it all evening, as the unit (thankfully!) arrived with a healthy charge on the battery. The included OEM adapter is a great touch to top off the package.
The screen is indeed the newest 101 version, crisp and clear, with two adjustable levels of brightness. The D-pad and all of the buttons are as firm and responsive as one would expect from a console straight out of Nintendo's factories. I especially like the aesthetic of this device: The tritone color scheme looks classier and perhaps a bit more "grown-up" than Nintendo's default color offerings for this particular model.
Whether this is your first GBA SP or you're craving some nostalgic fun, you can't go wrong with this handheld! It was ahead of its time ten years ago, and it can still hold its own against the handhelds of today when it comes to pure FUN!
