Alcatel Big Easy Plus
2 of 2 found this helpful This is a simple, straight-forward cell phone that has large numerals, and is fairly easy to use. I bought it as an emergency means of communication should I fall on a walk, or my car break down. It is exactly what I wanted and needed. In fact, I subsequently bought one for my wife.
It does not have all the bells and whistles that my kids phones have, but it has everything I need - large numerals, good sized screen, fairly intuitive operating system, camera, flashlight, speed-dialing, etc.
The phone came with 800 minutes, 365 days of call time, which, based on what I paid for it comes to less than $4.00 per month. Quite a bargain. (They have since gone up in price).
I'm very satisfied and would recommend this phone to anyone who needs a simple, basic phone.

Not easy to activate and transfer unused minutes and days from another Tracfone
On balance, it is a terrific value, especially if you use it (as I do) as a simple phone, or for emergency purposes. It has a large keypad, easy to follow displays, good quality sound, and the battery seems to last quite a while before needing recharging. The cost for a year of service cannot be beat
My biggest frustration came in respect to the activation process. Both my wife and I had Tracfones with unused minutes, and I was unsure how to transfer them using the on-line activation process. So first I contacted a Tracfone rep via Live Chat, and he insisted that the phone had no minutes preloaded. I would have to buy a card with minutes to activate. When we finally got past that issue, he proceeded to give me numerous series of 20+ digit numbers that I had to enter into the phone. It was very tedious, but we finally got everything taken care of.
To activate the second phone, I called Tracfone directly, and that process went much smoother. For people who feel that they need help activating, I strongly recommend calling Tracfone directly, rather than using Live Chat..
