This item is NON-Removable from the mount once its installed. You will have to damage item to remove off the mount.
2 of 2 found this helpful The plastic retain snap ring does not have a way to safely remove the knife from the mount. Doing so will force the snap ring out of shape and over 3-4 removal's its not able to reliable hold on to the mount. I luckily bought two in my order, I installed one on a M-9 specific mount then tried to remove it. Nope I had to force it off damaging a new product. So I tried again and forced it off, basic its toast now and is not able to hold on the mount. SO its only used if you want a safety knife permanently attached to the gun.

Manual Instructions booklet leaves alot to be desired. Most of the photos are in lacking quality, with the booklets text not a viable option to follow
The product parts included are good quality I'd say for the price. How ever the little rubber inserts are cheese to say the least. Either for me the ones that came with mine were old or dry or both; but the ones included didn't stick. The ones that are shaped like wedges are in my case bad. Basically this problem derailed the idea of the shield for me. Due to basic pads which HAVE to be installed, the pads hold the shield from off the guns body. Sliding will still continue when the guns fired. So even if perfectly installed by train and paid pro, this shield will out the box destroy the finish of you gun. I had a gunsmith try to fix through personal efforts but the fact is this product is not a viable option. The design is flawed majorly and professionals might or might not be able to help. I have taken a hit in the pocket to have the design changed but it went no where reliably.

Great item, you will need a special tool; (not included) to remove old safety. That or a gunsmith will make a quick install and be ready in 5mins.
1 of 2 found this helpful I didn't know that most Mossberg safeties have a special screw with an odd head to attach the safety to the receiver. If one doesn't have the tool head to remove it then a gunsmith will have to made short work of it. Id be a wasted trip for only 5mins of work totaling to possibly hundred, depending on the mood the gunsmith has that day. Good luck their trade is dying fast so best believe you would need to make it worth wild to go for multiple reasons not just this safety.
That product is good and does aid in the functions it claims. I like it and will be keeping mine in use. Thank you
