DOOM - Not perfect, but a decent watch.
Now, as the title says, this movie is not perfect. Some of the acting is good, some of it pretty bad. Most of the makeup and technical effects are pretty impressive and the extras show just how much work was put into them. The environments are dark and intimidating and the designs of monsters are suitably horrific. All this being said, many would probably be frustrated by the distinct lack of action and the slightly disjointed storytelling. While a few sequences of the movie are amazingly shot and played out, a lot of it isn't so engaging.

A great novel giving new life to an average movie.
For a novelisation of a movie, especially one as distinctly average as DOOM, this was a great read. It is incredibly well written and follows the movie's content closely while adding more depth to the characters and additional scenes that provide background to them. If you enjoyed the movie and want more out of it, this is the perfect way to do it.
