Thorough, but too wordy
Learning Web Design was a supplemental textbook for my beginners computer science class. While this book teaches web design as promised and gives examples you can easily follow, I found the writing style ineffective. As a student, I want to get my reading done ASAP. Yet because Robbins' style is casual and conversational, I feel compelled to skip around in the book, especially for flowery introductions. Even our professor advises skimming.
I thought websites like w3schools can do a better job of teaching HTML and CSS with less conversation and more interactive examples.
