Hidden cost to operate
A great grill, however what needs to be considered and not mentioned by
dealer, those glass panels only last 2-3 years (Company estimate) before
breaking. The panels currently (2019) cost $110 plus shipping.
I purchased a G-Series 11/2003 and have replaced 10 thermal glass
plates. The grill gets little use, two people at a second home. This has
only been an inconvenience in that the "Life time warranty" covered all
but shipping for 16 years. What you are grilling must be discarded due to embedded glass shards.
My warranty has reached the end of life apparently. TEC no longer will honer the warranty and I must pay for
replacement glass. This significantly increases grilling cost beyond what I feel is reasonable, I will sell my G3.
