An excellent portable shortwave radio.
An excellent medium sized portable radio which works best with the included remote control. It's a superb bedside receiver. When used with a portable indoor active antenna (Sony AN-LP1) it will pick up stations from Nigeria, Brazil, Ecuador and Guatemala and many others. It's background noise is very low which makes listening to weak stations easy on the ears. The audio (treble and bass) controls give the best performance compared to other more expensive receivers. The only disadvantage is the poor performance of the fine tuning knob which must be rotated in short turns to raise or lower the frequency; this does not occur with the remote control. All in all its a great value for money.
