Beautiful Art and Wonderful Price
The calligraphy on the piece is beautiful, especially on the reverse side. There is a "five-element" friendship knot on the pendant that adds to the beauty of the overall presentation of Ma Zu as a protector and guardian for all upon the way.

Excellent Gateway to Meditation
To be able to share in the ritual music of the Daoist community is such a great gift. This CD is wonderful. Track 3 "Buxu": Pacing the Void, brings to tonal life an otherwise sheltered piece of poetry in form and prayer. I would highly recommend this CD to those who use the Five Element Phases as part of their meditation or their exploration of Feng Shui. A beautiful collection executed with heart.

1948 Edition of Classical Buddhist Devotions (English with Japanese)
First, please do not be confused by the seller's description line; the copy is a reproduced 1948 version of a text used by the Hawai'i Soto Mission Association. So if you purchase this library bound text thinking it will contain a 2013, contemporary and research edited text, it does not. If you are interested in the history of Soto Zen Buddhism and its expression in post WW II America, this is a lovely work that sets a firm foundation for the regrowth of Soto Zen and its vision for gathering the Buddhadharma to present Zen to a shaken wold.
Second, this is a valuable liturgical text. When I was ordained in 1987, a similar liturgical form was used. For those engaged in a Sotoshu practice, much will easily recognized For those new to Sotoshu, moving through this text will provide a solid foundation for individual or community practice. If nothing else, it will provide a rich source of questions to pester your teacher with!
