Cartridge purchased in 2017 is still good
I paid under $20 (with shipping) in October 2017 and I've now used it for 1-1/2 years (it is now April 2019). It has performed quite well. Pages print out correctly with colorfast pure black ink.
The only drawback is this generic version does not communicate with my HP printer to tell if it's full or empty. However, saving about 75% off the name brand price makes that minor inconvenience worth it.
