Bee wise and buy Bee Thousand
My view is biased as I love GBV, but this is an absolute classic in their back catalogue. I bought it secondhand so expected it not to be perfect condition, but playback was fine and no issues. Just an all-round brilliant album from a gem of a band who keep on turning out the goods

Lightweight with great features
There was much of interest in the book, but I get put off by this modern style of historical writing, a style better suited to journalism, it's more "matey", where the writer has to be almost permanently onstage with the flow of the narrative. For example I don't much care about the long walk it took to get to the museum and the ache in his muscles, and what colour the guide's hair was that led him there, I just want sensible facts about the subject he's writing about. A 300-page book is packed out with this stuff, whereas the actual historical information could be imparted in something like a 2000-word blog. That said, it's eminently readable, which is what the market wants, serving to keep less hungry minds nourished between tube stops or train stations or whatever. Go figure.

Jackie Chan at his best
1 of 1 found this helpful Great movie, said to be a semi-reboot of Armour of God, which I suppose it is. In AOG 2, Jackie zorbs over a mountain, in this he perhaps goes one better by wearing a rollerblade suit and rips downhill in a far-out chase scene; I mean imagine going at the speed of a car with your chin a few inches from the road? A Jackie classic, where he does pretty much all of it. What's not to like?
