Well Built
I use as the base on my macro rig. Is a fine enough touch even to fine focus. Smooth end to end and nice tension adjustment. Nice finish too. Would be more versatile if screw crank and knob ends were reversible and the base more adaptable mounting.

Not dependable
Does work fine most of the time but cannot feel confident with. Only live view magnified will you get the best sharpness. Vintage M42 mount prime glass adjusted for infinity focus on Canon 6d focus calibrated. Shade the LCD. I use a optical loupe.

Heavy duty for heavy lens
1 of 1 found this helpful Bottom swivel (spin) stiff and sticky I installed a bearing and compression on it to get a smooth adjustable drag. The top bushing worked fine and smooth with a drop of oil, from locked to loose the mount drops bit. But these are for big lenses with collar mounts also loose to turn as you pan, so that slight droop is not a problem, this is not a pan head. Built strong but needs some DIY tinkering to get it to work smooth.
