Best distortion pedal I've ever heard for metal
6 of 6 found this helpful You have to like heavy metal distortion, of course, to like this pedal, although I find it can get awesome medium gain sounds with the gain dialed back. It has incredibly adjustable eq controls, which means it has a very wide range of possible sounds. If you're not getting a good sound, you probably need to spend more time with the eq controls. Or maybe this just isn't your style of music. I've tried dozens of pedals for high gain, nothing compares to this one. The MT-2 rules. Make sure you're playing it through a very clean amp. Solid states such as a Roland JC amp work best with this pedal. The only way to get a better metal sound is if you can afford a EVH, Peavey, Soldano, Mesa Mark series, Marshall JVM, etc amplifier and speaker cabinet. If not, then this pedal will serve you well.

Awesome simple compressor
I use this pedal primarily with clean sounds (surf music), or medium or light distortion (classic rock and blues). It's quiet and very effective, transparent, giving me the extra sustain I'm seeking. Works fantastic, I love it.

Best album they've done since Transistor!
This album has it all, 311 comes full range and you know it ain't easy.
The band comes original with 17 tracks (!) that very much remind me of the experimental nature of Transistor, which is my all-time favorite album by any music artist.
Crushing metal riffs? Check. Upbeat bouncy reggae tunes that make you feel like you're in the Caribbean? Check. SA and Nick rapping in awesome fashion? Check. Songs that rock so hard you might get injured head-banging? Oh yes, definitely check.
This album has everything 311 does best in full display. Incredible creative album.
And my wife and I are on the album cover! They made the cover with 10,000 photos submitted by fans.
Last thing - see them live!
