I use them as fishing bait trays.
I actually use them to put bait in when fishing from my private boat. I distribute one to each of the people on my boat and they are responsible for putting the bait (sardines, squid, ...) and a scoop of ice in them to keep the bait off the deck and gunwales and to reduce running back and forth to the bait cooler as the action heats up. This keeps the foot traffic on the boat down and helps to keep the boat cleaner.
The trays are made of plastic which is easy to clean and the metal scraper on top of the trays is easy to remove, so, no sharp edges to cut fingers or worse and no rust.

Limited daylight range
I bought this for my grandson's 22 LR. I needed a laser that mounts to the barrel because there is no other place to put it.
It does fit well, however, the range in daylight is very limited. I would say no more then 10-20 feet at the most depending upon where the sun is. On my personal rifle, my other brand of green dot has a range of over 100 feet in full sun. I put in known fresh good batteries and it made no difference from the battery that came with the unit.
If you are only going to shoot in first light or dusk to dark conditions then this would work OK, but I would not recommend it for full daylight shooting over 20 feet.
