Must-have JMT Companion
This is a must have for those thru-hiking or section hiking the 220 mile JMT. Pros: the pocket map is sized just right to fit in a front pants pocket or backpack side stuff pocket. It is gloss coated paper that will handle water without being ruined. The map is chalked with details, including best camp spots and alternate trailhead. The preface has a 21-day suggested itinerary to help plan days. Some reports of mislabeled landmarks and inaccurate milage are just not acurate, as far as I can tell. Cons: to make the map so compact, the typeface and page maps are very small and often hard to see with older eyes. I would have preferred the map book be a little thicker and have bigger typed into and closer-up mapping.

Makes a fast, hot cup of coffee, but there are issues..
The E-bay store that I purchased this coffee maker from was outstanding, and the price I paid was well below what I could have bought it for at other online retailers. I did a lot of homework before buying the Bunn B10, and virtually every review was positive. However, there are just some things about this coffee maker that I am having a tough time getting used to. For one, I have to say that I miss the automatic shut off of the hotplate and the programming features that most modern coffee makers have now. I didn't think I would, but I definately do. Second, the hot water comes out of the sprayer nozel about as fast as you pour it in. Sure, you get a very fast pot of coffee, but... Now it does have a device that prevents the water from releasing until you close the lid. However, the hot water pours into the coffee so rapidly that it often overflows and creates a mess on the counter. Now sure, I know just how to place the filter and coffee so it does not, but what about when other people make coffee? It's always one big mess on the counter. I have heard that Bunn will send out a reduced flow spray nozel that will eliminate this problem. I will try to get one of these and try it. Otherwise, I have to say that I am about ready to mothball this coffeepot and bring back my old one. I want to say I paid about $59 for this pot. It is definately not worth a dime more than that. I would have bee very upset if I had paid the regular retail price of over $100.

Decent Pad at a Great Price
The Klymit Static V pad is an excellent alternative to the much costier Thermarest Neo Air. At 225lbs., I can lay on my side on this pad and not hit the ground. I will use the pad in combination with the Thermarest Z Sol foldable pad underneath in colder, high altitude hikes, as this pad is not insulated. My initial concern with this pad was its ability to hold air, as it is a refurbished pad. I took the advice of other reviewers here and put a couple drops of mineral oil into the valve opening, which apparently helps maintain the valve and keeps it airtight when closed. I filled the mattress up full capacity, and left it in my closet for a week. I checked it today and it was just as full as I left it, with no evidence of air loss. will be taking the static V on a 60 mile section hike of the JMT in August, and I am very happy I was able get get such an excellent deal on a quality pad.
