Excellent regulated power supply for mobile/base 2 meter transceiver. I bought it to power my Yaesu FT2900R 2 meter ham rig, and it's a perfect mate.
This is the ideal power supply unit for the Yaesu FT2900R transceiver. You get plenty of clean power that allows you to transmit at full power of this radio. Most of the time you will not be running the full power when transmitting on the two meter ham band, but this compact companion power supply allows you to run a small radio station with confidence. You can use this power supply to operate the FT2900R at 75 watts of RF transmission power without overtaxing the PSU. It has a demand only cooling fan that runs so quiet I can barely tell when it runs, and since the FT2900R has no fan, the white noise generated by this combination of equipment is phenomenally low. Except for the pilot light in the power switch you will not know it is operating.
I put my FT2900R and this FP1023 in a Samlex cabinet and it is nearly bullet-proof, compact and easily moved from one place to another - really great for operating on the 2 meter band on the go without giving up the versatility of a setup that can operate mobile or as a base station.
This is my second 2 meter station, ( the other is a pair of Baofeng UV5R+ hand held dual band transceivers for portable 5 watt transmitting power for working contacts via a repeater to make long range contacts.
But with this power supply and the FT2900R I can work contacts at much longer ranges. If you need a small form factor power supply unit that can deliver 23 amps consistently at 13.8 volts DC current, this is a great unit and will last you for years of faithful service.
This one is an earlier model with screw terminals for the outputs but the more recent manufactured FP1023s come equipped with the popular Andersen Power Pole connectors.
I highly recommend the Yaesu FP1023 power supply to any ham operator needing a tough, well built power supply unit.

Two antennas in one
This antenna comes with a telescoping and a whip top section, and they both work great on handheld transceivers like the Baofeng UV-5 series radios. With the telescoping top section installed it feels a bit off balance, but if you are using the extended battery it corrects the handle ability of the radio. This top end is also center loaded to enhance signal quality.
The whip top section is somewhat flexible so if you snag it on brush or something that you might encounter working as a first responder it will simply bend and flex back into normal position if the obstacle is within the last third of it's length. As with any antenna if you bend it too far it will suffer a structural failure but if you are out in the open or indoors this is not an issue.
The price is very reasonable for what you get, and the function is superb. If you need a replacement antenna, or if you want something with higher gain and reception quality, I recommend you try this antenna.

The Sling swivel that exceeds your expectations
1 of 1 found this helpful This all steel, heavy duty 1 1/2 inch QD sling swivel is well worth the price and it is very well designed. It is precision machined to fit and function without fail, and that is all we can ask of any sling swivel or any other part. It's simple to install on any picatinny rail with the supplied allen key, and you can easily relocate it at will as the situation presents itself. Once it is where you want it, it stays put and does it's job. It's reliable, sturdy and tough and capable of taking the abuse of competition. Buy this and you will not regret it.
