I didn't NEED a new axe...but I WANTED this one !!
2 of 2 found this helpful Super sharp from factory... Easy to put and keep an edge... Huge BONUS having a ferro rod in the handle. (probably enough room to add some tinder ie: magnesium shavings, petroleum jelly cotton ball or similar,to catch your shower of sparks.)
Sheath is the only minus, pointy axe tip not always covered while in "closed carrying" position.
I plan to alter that a bit (looks like an easy "fix"). This however was NOT enough to keep me from giving it 5 stars. Great axe for $.

Peace of Mind
While your pack or lighter may not be with you ..this will be (gotta wear it though)...
Having cordage handy, a whistle at the ready, and a shower of hot sparks when needed
(even after getting wet). Really cant be beat,especially at the price.
As with anything though...practice making a fire with it BEFORE you take it out in the field.

Cheaper Back-up USB "C" type Cords for camping etc..Work just fine!!
Cords work fine...I needed to have a back-up cord for camping charging with my Bio-lite camp stove or from a battery pack. The USB "C" cord
my phone came with does not disconnect from the plug. I prefer to be ready before need an emergency charge.
