An excellent concept for anyone running a 2 battery system. I have these in 12 pickup trucks w/campers, that we rent out. No user input what so ever!
It really is to all tense and purposes a foolproof system. It does not connect immediately when you switch on the vehicle. so it does not create a dangerous peak in demand for the alternator. Under normal use, it does not require any input from the user of the vehicle. It does not try to charge a battery that is dangerously low in voltage. And it watches both sides for charging input.
You still need to disconnect it for winter storage, or better yet, get a good enough trickle charger for both batteries and plug it in.
