    the manson film 2 see!
we all know the history of psycho charlie and his deranged family of killers. but this film takes it in a different route, jumping from the present, and back 2 the 60's. i forget how long this film took 2 complete, but it worked. the actors in the film have aged so that the stuff from present day looks authentic. and the story of the family is told from a different perspective than helter skelter. this feels real all the way through. and the ending is so true and totally fitting 2 what this evil little man accomplished. and his accomplishments are not good. thats probably the main thing, and this film brings it all home. charlie took a bunch of people who were searching 4 truth, and brainwashed them. what is really scary is the newest family members. if you are at all interested in this tragic history- see this film! -ray kroll

own a treasure-bring bob clampett home!
what i love the most is that this classic bob clampett stuff is finally, finally available on dvd! this dvd is so jam packed with extras and all kinds of goodies. i still don't think i have seen everything on it. bob clampett was a true genius, a pioneer, and innovater. he inspired john kricfalusi who is another hero who was involved with returning beany and cecil in the 80's with an all new show! i have wanted to have time to savor over and over the genius of bob clampett. and now i have it. volume 2 in this series was just released last month. anyone remotely interested in cartooning should see these. they are truly timeless trasures. take a trip to beanyland with these wonderful dvds! you won't regret it. -ray kroll toon lover

    Old meets new
I wasn't sure what to expect here, and was very pleasantly surprised. I loved the Adam West Batman as a child. But as an adult I found it rather silly. Batman in the old comics was to strike fear into the hearts of criminals. Adam West's Batman could hardly strike fear. Laughter maybe, but not fear. Then came Dark Knight returns then Tim Burton's Batman. It was the character returning to his dark roots. So I know Adam West is a lot older now, so he couldn't really do a film, but with the magic of animation he could. This probably the BEST Adam West Batman of all. With the help of Catwoman's "Batnip" Bruce Wayne becomes dark, and EVIL. One line was lifted right out of Burton's Batman. When Batman confronts the criminal gang he says "You wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts!" And proceeds to pummel them Dark Knight style. It was old meets new, as of the newer Batman films. The animation is SUPERB! Adam West Batman's Gotham and all it's trappings are awesome. And Gordon, LOOKS like Gordon. Good movie!
