There is a caveat !!
2 of 3 found this helpful I had read about the pitfalls possible with this scanner and came prepared when I got it
1st) get yourself a 16 gb preferably a 32 gb photo quality SD card .
2nd) have on hand a computer that has a card reader and sufficient storage ( 8gb) for off loading the files on the original chip into a thumb drive or hard drive on the computer.
3rd) When you get the scanner remove the SD card from it and copy the files off the chip onto your storage, then take that SD card and store in the new case for its replacement.
4th)Take your new chip and copy the files onto it and leave in the SD slot after your done.
5th)register on the manufactures web site and request updates select all and go do something else for at least a couple of hours!! when it done its pretty good if not great just don't get anxious I am in gratitude to some one else on an automotive site for most of this info.

Good tool for the money
I repaired a Microwave ( worn door safety switch) which required removing the cover, got nervous, about potential microwave leaks so purchased this when it arrived I tested the microwave for leaks and found it was leaking more than it should (6 tp 9) was in the process of ordering a new door for said microwave when it popped an internal fuse, at that point, wife decided to conduct some quick research into new microwaves and we (she) discovered that some of the new microwave have an improvements !! like using a inverter to power it and food sensors, BOTH, of which improve the cooking process, and they really do. Once we determined that we bought a new Microwave and tossed the old one.
Once the new one was in place I tested it for leakage and only got a high reading of 2,4 so this apparently works quite well and the new microwave is quite a step up.
