Light good, Fan not.
Electrically, this should be very simple, but it is not. These dimmers are fine for multi-light purposes, but no good for the fan. I didn't bother to put a meter on it to measure voltage or current, as it wouldn't make a difference. Properly placing the fan on its own high setting and operating the fan control causes an evident lumbering of the motor; It sounds quite strained. Thus, I hardwired the fan and reverted to the High-Medium-Low-Off pull string method, else risk an early demise for the fan motor. It looks good, but ostensibly is not appropriately engineered for an effective or efficient fan control.
